This couple is one for the books. They have a fairytale like no other. It's delightful to see them together. Their love is abundantly evident. As they came together to become husband and wife, it was a blessing to be apart of this day. They enjoyed many beautiful moments with family and friends, and praised the Lord for His many blessings in such a short amount of time.

It was a blast having fun with photos and being able to do a bridal party "first look". It made it extra special and it turned out better than I could have hoped.

And it's always nice when the groomsmen can get a bit sassy.

This 'first touch' is such a special moment to be able to have. This moment and the prayer that followed are obvious of how much love these two share.

Someone was happy to finally be married... hehe

This one is one of my favorites because I love how he can't stop looking at his new bride. She is gorgeous and he has her forever!

Thank you so much you two for allowing us to be apart of this special day. You truly do radiate Jesus with the love you have for each other and the love you have for family and friends. This moment is forever a special moment for us too.

Adorable Couple...

When you meet new friends, as a photographer, you think to yourself "I hope someday they will ask me to take their photos". It's true, especially when they are beautiful people. So when The George's asked us to take photos for them, it was like having that thought become reality! These two are adorable together. They share laughs, hugs, and even the occasional hand holding. It makes you laugh along with them, and makes you feel like you are apart of their world.

And then they have adorable props (i.e. boots!!!)Ahhhh!

They ease into poses without effort...

They are super photogenic, it makes you feel self-conscious.

We are blessed to know these two and we are so glad they asked us to document this journey.

Twins {L} and {C} were born!

Welcome to the world...

Having a baby will change your life. Well, try having 2! This wonderful family, who already had one little one running around, just had 2 amazing little ones to add to the bunch. 

My cuddles were in overdrive with this session. It was heaven on earth to be able to snuggle with them all day, and even get mommy and daddy into the mix.

They are as little as they look and smaller. I loved the little features.

And I love that they got into the photos and made them so much more wonderful...

Inspiration comes from everywhere!

I get inspired...

I get inspired by many things, and I try to see what inspiration can come from different things. I get inspired by people, places I see, others photography, and even something simple like a piece of fabric. It motivates me to grow and expand my thinking of photography into an art. But inspiration is sometimes hard to find. I have been struggling lately with inspiration and comparing myself to others who are 'getting more clients', 'posting ALL THE TIME', 'growing their businesses', 'creating unique brands' and just doing everything that I am not. I tend to dwell on the fact that others are making it, and I can't seem to get anyone to want me to take their photos.

Growing a business is always a bit nerve racking. There are so many variables, and so many choices you make as business owners hoping you don't regret them in the end.

I love newborns and I am so excited to introduce you all to this little guy.
He is 7 days new and it was such a joy to be able to hold him and snuggle this little cutie. I told his mommy that it was a good thing I was already having one, cause it gave me big time baby fever to hold him and smell that sweet baby smell.

I have known Micah and Taylor for a while. Since they were in high school as a matter of fact and their love story warms my heart. It's one of patience and God's timing. You see their love radiating as they stare at each other, and you can't help but get swept away with it. They are wonderful children of Christ and in following His will for their lives they were led back to each other after high school.

They are beautiful together and it is so wonderful to watch...

Our sessions don't always go as planned, so being able to spend two who days with them, only made it sweeter. I loved these two and they were so fun to work with.

I loved hearing about baby Aaron, and how anxious his parents are to meet him. Even with the rain we had that stalled our first session, these two made it through and I enjoyed watching them make each other laugh. They are the sweetest, and I am so excited to photograph this little newborn when he makes his arrival soon.

Sydney turned 3!

Well, our oldest turned 3 and I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I have been treasuring each moment of her life since she was born. She is the sweetest and is so generous to her little brother. The best part was seeing her face light up when she saw all the decorations and bubbles. We had a bubble party and she had a blast.

I am in love with this wedding! They are so in love and it was visible all throughout the day. This was such an amazing day. I spent the whole day with them, and it was so memorable for me. All the little details of their wedding made it that much more special. This wedding was full of laughter and joy, and it's warms your heart to be around the two of them.

This blog post is special to my heart for more than the photography. I had the pleasure of being able to shoot my sisters wedding. One of the moments in life that you treasure and are sure to never forget. She was stunning on the day and she radiated all day long.

When she walked down the isle to Chris, it was magical. All the elements had come together and there they were, finally saying "I do".

5 Hard Lessons Learned...

Lessons Learned so you don't have to make the mistakes.

Well, I will start off by saying, I am not a seasoned professional and I will probably have many more posts like this one to pass on before I feel even the slightest bit comfortable with the word 'professional'. We started this company for the passion of photography. Because somewhere deep inside we thought our passion was going to keep us going. Well, here we are 4 years later, and we are still learning the hard way.

I have known them both for all of about 3 days now after second shooting their wedding and it was a spectacular wedding. I couldn't have asked for a better sunset with all the lighting. They made taking their photos so much fun and inspirational.

The Hiatus

The longest hiatus I have taken from photography yet. Don't get me wrong, I still took a ton of photos, but they weren't sessions for clients they were for my family and helped me get back to understanding who I am as a photographer. 

The Beginning...

Where did it come from?..

I never thought about photography growing up, I mean I loved to be in photos (because I was, and probably still am, a little vain). It was Sam that had the nice (film) SLR and it was super intimidating to think about using it. I had never used anything but disposables up to then. It wasn't long before that bug bit and I was hooked though. Of course, it didn't flourish right away. I stuck with my little point-and-shoot camera (not doing anything other than just capturing my life).

So, I haven't written much lately and that's because I have been working on the website and hopefully making it better. I have been making +sites to share with everyone, and I have been trying to get 'organized' as much as possible since we moved into the new house.

Sweet Moments...

I have been thinking about all the session that I do, and realize I don't usually do session with my own child... (the whole reason for starting our photography business). If I do get some photos of her, they are taken at the shoot and are of her running around. I decided to do a shoot that was just about her this time. I found the cutest ballerina outfit at the thrift store and made that the focus.

I love when my new sessions involve my friends. It's the sweetest time for me. I, not only get to do a photo shoot (which is my passion), but I also get to hang out with my friends for the day. 

Don't get me wrong, I always love making new friends when I do new sessions, but nothing is sweeter than knowing the subjects you are photographing.

50 Years and Counting...

So, I have been contemplating how I would integrate our website onto our blog, because I didn't want to be repeating myself. I love to post new photos, but it gets harder to post them on my website without changing  several different things. So I thought I would post some as a teaser on the blog and it would allow me some time before I have to change the photos on the website up.
